Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Remarks:
The adsorption coefficient of acetaldehyde is not determinable with the HPLC method because 1. in the chromatogram of acetaldehyde more than one signal can be observed and it can not be decided which one belongs to monomeric acetaldehyde. A part of the acetaldehyde may oligo- or polymerise under the HPLC conditions. 2. If the signal with the shortest retention time at 2.423 min (a second measurement shows the retention time 2.455 min) is acetaldehyde, it is shorter than the retention time of thiourea (2.706 min) which defines the dead time. All substances with shorter retention times give a negative capacity factor. Therefore it is not possible to calculate log of this capacity factor or log Koc. Parameters tries to be determined according EC test guideline under GLP - guideline study

The adsorption coefficient of acetaldehyde is not determinable with the HPLC method because

1. in the chromatogram of acetaldehyde more than one signal can be observed and it can not be decided which one belongs to monomeric acetaldehyde.
