General Population - Hazard via inhalation route

Systemic effects

Long term exposure
Hazard assessment conclusion:
DNEL (Derived No Effect Level)
Value:
1.4 mg/m³
Most sensitive endpoint:
repeated dose toxicity
Route of original study:
Oral
DNEL related information
DNEL derivation method:
ECHA REACH Guidance
Overall assessment factor (AF):
150
Dose descriptor starting point:
NOAEL
Value:
250 mg/kg bw/day
Modified dose descriptor starting point:
NOAEC
Value:
217 mg/m³
Explanation for the modification of the dose descriptor starting point:

The DNEL for systemic effects via the inhaled route is determined on the basis of route-to route extrapolation from the oral combined repeated dose toxicity study with the reproduction / developmental toxicity screening test, conducted according to OECD Test Guideline 422 and in compliance with GLP, with dimethylsilanediol (DMSD).

The following correction was made to the NOAEL (oral): Correction respiratory volume rat (24 hour) 1/1.15 m3/kg bw/day. Therefore the corrected NOAEC for repeated-dose systemic effects via the inhalation route is: 250 mg/kg/day*(1/1.15) = 217 mg/m3.
