Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Long-term sediment toxicity studies have not been conducted for the registered substance. However, they are not required for Annex IX (Phase 2) substances under the REACH Regulation.

The substance hydrolyses very rapidly in water and its intermediate and ultimate hydrolysis products have log Kow values <3 which indicate that partitioning to the sediment compartment is unlikely. In addition, the PNECs for the sediment compartment have been derived from the aquatic data using the equilibrium partitioning method for the intermediate and ultimate silanol hydrolysis products, and the RCRs (Risk Characterisation Ratios) indicate that there are no risks for the sediment compartment.
