Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information:
Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the material(s) involved, and take precautions to protect themselves. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
Description of first aid measures:
Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Get medical attention immediately.
Skin contact: Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Wash skin with soap and water. For minor skin contact, avoid spreading material on unaffected skin. Get medical attention immediately.
Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Get medical attention immediately.
Ingestion Rinse mouth. Do not induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed:
Burning pain and severe corrosive skin damage. Causes serious eye damage. Symptoms may include stinging, tearing, redness, swelling, and blurred vision. Permanent eye damage including blindness could result.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:

Larger fires: Medium expansion AFFF foam.

Water reactive material. By heating and fire, harmful vapours/gases may be formed. Hydrogen chloride. (corrosive)
Advice for firefighters:
Special protective equipment for firefighters: Firefighters must use standard protective equipment including flame retardant coat, helmet, gloves, rubber boots, and self-contained breathing apparatus.
Special fire fighting procedures: Move containers from fire area if you can do so without risk. Do not get water inside container. Water runoff can cause environmental damage.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
For non-emergency personnel: Keep unnecessary personnel away.
For emergency responders: Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained. Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Ensure adequate ventilation.Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions: Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Avoid release to the environment.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Eliminate sources of ignition.
Large Spills: Stop the flow of material, if this is without risk. Dam the spilled material, where this is possible. Cover with DRY earth, DRY sand or other non-combustible material followed with plastic sheet to minimise spreading or contact with rain. Do not get water on spilled substance or inside containers. Prevent entry into waterways, sewer, basements or confined areas.
Small Spills: Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece). Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination.
Never return spills in original containers for re-use.

Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
This product reacts with water, moisture, or humid air to evolve following compounds: hydrogen chloride.
Provide adequate ventilation. Use only outdoors or in a dry well-ventilated area. Do not allow water to get into container because of violent reaction and possible flash fire. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Avoid release to the environment. Do not empty into drains. Do not breathe mist or vapour. Do not get this material in contact with eyes. Do not get this material in contact with skin. Avoid prolonged exposure.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Never allow product to get in contact with water during storage. Store locked up. Keep container tightly closed. Keep out of the reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Store in a building without sprinklers. Keep in original container.

General information: Personal protection equipment should be chosen according to the CEN standards and in
discussion with the supplier of the personal protective equipment.
Eye/face protection: Wear goggles/face shield. Tightly sealed safety glasses according to EN 166.
Skin protection:

Use protective gloves made of: Viton rubber (fluor rubber).
- Other: Wear appropriate chemical resistant clothing. Wear full protective clothing.
Respiratory protection: Chemical respirator with acid gas cartridge.
Thermal hazards: Wear appropriate thermal protective clothing, when necessary.
Hygiene measures: Do not get in eyes. Do not get this material in contact with skin. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practices.
Environmental exposure controls:
Contain spills and prevent releases and observe national regulations on emissions. Environmental manager must be informed of all major releases.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity: Reacts violently with water, acids or bases, producing heat.
Chemical stability: Stable at normal conditions.
Possibility of hazardous reactions: Hazardous polymerisation does not occur.
Conditions to avoid: Exposure to water vapour
Incompatible materials: Water, alcohols, compound having active hydrogen atom or alkalis.
Hazardous decomposition products: React violently with water, acids or bases, producing heat and following compounds: Hydrogen chloride. Thermal breakdown of this product during fire or very high heat condition may evolve the following hazardous decomposition product: Carbon oxides
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods:
Residual waste: Dispose of in accordance with local regulations. Empty containers or liners may retain some product residues.
Contaminated packaging Since emptied containers may retain product residue, follow label warnings even after container is emptied.
EU waste code: The Waste code should be assigned in discussion between the user, the producer and the waste disposal company.
Disposal methods/information: Incinerate; or, Hydrolyze, neutralize and flush to the sewer connected to the wastewater treatment system. Incinerator should be appropriately equipped for large amount of hydrochloric gas and fine silica powder which the product will generate in incineration. Workers should wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Contract with a disposal operator licensed by the Law on Disposal and Cleaning. Do not allow this material to drain into sewers/water supplies. Dispose of
contents/container in accordance with local/ regional/ national/ international regulations.
