First-aid measures

Inhalation
Move to fresh air. If the affected person is not breathing, apply artificial respiration. Consult a physician after significant exposure.

Skin contact
Removal of solidified molten material from skin requires medical assistance. Remove and isolate contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention immediately. For minor skin contact, avoid spreading material on unaffected skin. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists. Wash off with soap and water. For hot product, immediately immerse in or flush the affected area with large amounts of cold water to dissipate heat. Wash clothing separately before reuse. Immediately flush skin with plenty of water.

Eye contact
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists get medical attention.

Ingestion
Have victim rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. If vomiting occurs naturally, have victim lean forward to reduce risk of aspiration. Obtain medical attention.

General advice
Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Contact with molten material may cause thermal burns. If you feel unwell, seek medical advice (show the label where possible). Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the material(s) involved, and take precautions to protect themselves.

Notes to physician
Symptoms may be delayed. Keep victim warm. In case of shortness of breath, give oxygen.

Fire-fighting measures

General fire hazards
Avoid runoff into storm sewers and ditches which lead to waterways.

Hazardous combustion products
Upon decomposition, this product emits carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and/or low molecular weight hydrocarbons.

Suitable extinguishing media
Dry chemical, CO2, water spray or regular foam.

Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons
Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.

Protection of firefighters
Wear full protective clothing, including helmet, self-contained positive pressure or pressure demand breathing apparatus, protective clothing and face mask.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions
Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing.
Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Remove all sources of ignition.

Methods for cleaning up
Use a non-combustible material like vermiculite, sand or earth to soak up the product and place into a container for later disposal.
Never return spills to original containers for re-use. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Clean up in accordance with all applicable regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling
Do not get this material in contact with eyes. Do not get this material in contact with skin. Do not get this material on clothing. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Molten material can cause burns. Handle molten material with care. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge. Follow all SDS/label precautions even after container(s) is/are emptied because they may retain product residue(s).

Storage
Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Use care in handling/storage. Keep container tightly closed. Keep the container dry. Keep in a well-ventilated place. Store in cool place.
