Conclusion on classification

For 2,2,2 -trifluoroethanol ecotoxicity data are available for three trophic levels (fish, aquatic invertebrates and alga). From these data the lowest effect value is observed in fish (96h LC50 of 119 mg/l). According to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 for the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP), 2,2,2 -trifluoroethanol is not considered dangerous for the environment.
