Administrative data

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Fresh air; if indicated, use artificial respiration (mouth to mouth or respirator) and consult physician.
Dermal contact: Rinse skin with plenty of water. Take of contaminated cloth and clean them with polyethlenglycol 400.
Eye contact: Rinse eye with pleanty of water for at least 10 minutes. Consult physician.
Swallowing: Fresh air; give ethoanl and lemon juice (e.g. a glas of 40% alcoholic drink); consult physician (alert to methanol); in case of apnoea, give artificial respiration (mouth to mouth or respirator)

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable exstinguishing agents: water, carbon dioxide, powder BC + ABC, fire extinguishing foam
Specific danger: flammable, fumes heavier than air, in contact with air explosive mixtures might be formed.
In contact with light metals, hydrogen gas may be formed (Danger of Explosion)
Protective equipment: Gloves

Accidental release measures

Personnel: corrosive
Environment: strong alkaline, biodegradable after dilution
Cleaning/Collection: Use liquid-binding material (e.g. Chemosorb). Dispose appropriately. Clean with water.

Handling and storage

Handling:
Use closed containers.
Flammable, fumes heavier than air, in contact with air explosive mixtures might be formed. In contact with light metals, hydrogen gas may be formed (Danger of Explosion)

Storage:
Do not use Aluminium-, Zinc- or Tin-container.
Keep containers and storage tightly closed in a cool, ventilated place. Keep ans store away from ignition sources, combustible material and acids.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Personal Protection:
Take contaminated cloth off immediately. Wash hands after work.
In case of fumes/aerosoles, wear respiratory protection.
Use gloves appropriate for the duration of handling.
Wear eye protection.
Wear appropriate protective cloth.


Stability and reactivity

Avoid conditions beyond the stability range from -10°C to 50°C.
Avoid the following substances: acidic halogenids, alkaline (earth) metals, oxidising agents, hydrids, halogens, diethyl zinc
Dangerous decomposition products: acrolein, formaldehyde

Disposal considerations

Dispose off using appropriate container (B).
Dispose off according to local, regional and/or national/inetrnational requirements.
