Additional information

The substance BPA 3PO one of a series of propoxylated bisphenols and, although many of the biological properties can be compared between members of the group, some of the physico chemical properties do not fit obvious trends.

The BPA 3PO is considered to be a UVCB with a mixture of 2, 3 and 4 moles PO. Due to the reactivity of propylene oxide, it is considered unlikely that there is significant concentration of 1 mole PO or residual bisphenol. BPA 2PO and 5PO have been evaluated.

Basic physico chemical properties:

Appearance: Pale yellow, viscous liquid

Thermal Characteristics: Freezes at < -20°C and decomposes from 350°C

Vapour Pressure: Negligible

Water Solubility: < 50 mg/L

Soluble in polar solvents

Partition Coefficient estimated Log Pow 3 - 3.6

No physical hazards; not flammable or explosive
