Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Propoxylated N-tallow alkyltrimethylenediamines adsorb firmly and completely to soil and are considered “immobile” or “non-mobile”.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
33 037

Additional information

The Koc of the UVCB Amines, N-tallow alkyltrimethylenedi-, propoxylated was determined by the use of non experimental methods. As no single computational model could be identified which would fit exclusively to this task, the Koc eventually was calculated from the geometric mean of the data generated by two individual approaches.

The computations all were based on the experimentally derived log Kow > 6. The resulting log Koc is > 4.51 (Koc > 33’037 L/kg) and is considered reliable as it is supported from models, which mostly are based on real physical properties of the test item.

Concerning data interpretation of the resulting Koc, all available data uniformly are pointing in one direction and clearly indicate that has to be considered as “immobile” or “non-mobile” in soils or sediments according to the scales of McCall et al (1981) or Hollis (1991) respectively.

For these reasons additional adsorption/desorption testing can not be expected to reveal new results with any added value concerning the risk assessment of this substance, thus additional studies on adsorption/desorption shall be waived.
