Description of key information

The water solubility of Rosin, Hydrogenated rosin, Rosin, reaction products with formaldehyde and Rosin oligomers ranges from 0.9 mg/L to 8.1 mg/L. The water solubility of monovalent salts ranges from ≤438 mg/L to mutually miscible. The water solubility of divalent salts ranges from 18.2 - 65 mg/L.

The solubility of Rosin, oligomers was measured at two loading rates, 1 and 10 g/L, and the results expressed as total organic carbon (TOC). At a loading rate of 10 g/L solubility was measured as ≤0.0022 g/L (as TOC) and at a loading rate of 1 g/L solubility was measured as ≤0.0016 g/L (as TOC). The results show that water solubility is loading rate dependent and therefore could be higher than ≤0.0022 g/L at higher loading rates.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A GLP-compliant study, conducted according to OECD Guideline 105 (flask method) was provided for Rosin, oligomers (Harlan Laboratories Ltd., 2013a)
