In accordance with REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, section 1.1.1, the performance of a test for hydrolysis as function of pH is scientifically unjustified. The study does not need to be conducted as cesium iodide completely dissociates in water forming a cesium cation and the corresponding iodide. Both, the cation and the anion are stable in the aquatic environment. The dissociation constant of cesium iodide was determined according to OECD Guideline 112 with the titration method. The dissociation constant was not determinable because cesium iodide is a strong electrolyte (see IUCLID section 4.21 Dissociation constant).
