Persistence of the substance was tested in closed study design as 3-PN has a potential for volatility.  The half life of the substance is over 1 year at pH 4, 7 and 9. Fully reliable degradation studies demonstrated that the substance is readily biodegradable meeting the 10d-window (De Nada, 2009). 


Based on the experimentally determined n-octanol/water partition coefficient (see endpoint 4.7) the substance is not expected to bioaccumulate in organisms.
