Description of key information

[1,3-phenylenebis(1-methylethylidene)]bis[tert-butyl] peroxide is an Organic Peroxide Type D and has a SADT of 80 ºC.

The melting range of [1,3 -phenylenebis(1 -methylethylidene)]bis[tert-butyl] peroxide is between 41.5°C to 51.0°C at normal pressure.

The relative density of [1,3-phenylenebis(1-methylethylidene)]bis[tert-butyl] peroxide is 1.042 at 20ºC.

No boiling point is available because the peroxide decomposes before boiling (its Self Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT) is around 80°C.

Granulometry: Light microscopic examination showed a flake type granular product, no fibres were observed. The PSD(particle size distribution)-characteristics are : d10 is 22µm, d50 is 69µm and d90 is 132µm.

The vapour pressure of [1,3-phenylenebis(1-methylethylidene)]bis[tert-butyl] peroxide seemsvery low(estimated by calculation at 0.0091 Pa at 25°C and measured at 0.00012 Pa at 20°C for related 25155-25-3).
