Description of key information

Monoisopropylnaphthalene is reported to produce acute toxic effects on freshwater algae within the range of water solubility (=< 2.8 mg/L). In a 72 h short-term toxicity test (OECD 201), the ECr50 was below 1 mg/L and the NOECr was below 0.1 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
0.245 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.079 mg/L
