Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A 96-hour LC50 value of >107 mg/l and NOEC of ≥107 mg/l have been determined for the effects of the registered substance on mortality of Cyprinus carpio. The results are interpreted with reference to estimated concentrations of the test substance. However, due to the very rapid hydrolysis of the registered substance, it is very likely that the test organisms were exposed to its hydrolysis products rather than the parent substance. The results may be expressed in terms of concentration of the hydrolysis product, (3-chloropropyl)methylsilanediol, by applying a molecular weight correction: (MW of silanol = 154.67 / MW of parent = 191.56) * LC50 = >107 mg/l = >86 mg/l as (3-chloropropyl)methylsilanediol.

The result is supported by a 96-hour LC50 non-limit value of 574 mg/l for the structurally analogous read-across substance (3-chloropropyl)diethoxymethylsilane (CAS 13501-76-3) with Brachydanio rerio (new name: Danio rerio).
