Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information:
Pay attention to self protection. Carry out immediate, life-saving measures depending on the situation. Cov-er wounds in a sterile manner. Make provisions for physical comfort and protect against body heat loss.
After inhalation:
For self protection remove the injured parties from the hazardous area. Provide for adequate fresh air. In the event of apnoea provide artificial respiration. In the event of pain provide for medical attention.
After skin contact:
Immediately remove contaminated clothing, if neces-sary also shoes. Rinse skin with a lot of water. In the event of persistent skin irritation seek medical atten-tion.
After eye contact:
Immediately, whilst protecting the uninjured eye, ex-tensively (approx. 10 minutes) rinse with water with the eyelids open. In the event of eye injury apply a sterile protective dressing. After eye contact always consult an eye specialist.
After swallowing:
Immediate vigorous rinsing of the mouth. Then allow to drink as much as possible. In the event of pain seek medical attention.
Acute and delayed appearing symptoms and effects:
Up to the present none are known.
Information regarding immediate medical as sistance or special treatment:
Show this safety data sheet to the doctor providing treatment. Saponin foams therefore avoid vomiting as much as possible after ingestion of large quantities.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing agent:
Water
Unsuitable extinguishing agent:
None known.
Special hazard:
In the event of fire undefined harmful gas can be re-leased. Explosive dust-air mixtures can form.
Special protective equipment for fire fighting:
Do not inhale explosion and fire fumes. Wear independent recirculating air respiratory protection.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions:
Avoid dust formation. Keep away from ignition sources. Use personal protective equipment.
Environmental protection measures:
Do not allow permeation into the sewage system or surface water.
Procedure for cleaning/containing:
Where possible spilled products are to be contained dry and taken for disposal. Only remaining product deposits are to be washed away with warm water.
Handling and storage
Handling:
Information regarding safe handling:
Use personal protective equipment. When decanting large quantities without an extraction system: Use respiratory protection. Do not drink, eat or smoke in the work areas. Wash hands after activities and, if possible, remove contaminated clothing.
Information regarding fire and explosion protection:
Avoid general dust formation. Keep away from ignition sources.
Storage:
Requirements for storage rooms and containers:
Store in the original containers and keep tightly closed.
Further information regarding storage requirements:
Store in a dry location.
Storage class according to. TRGS 510:
11
Specific end use

Exposure controls / personal protection
Components with workplace related limits are to be monitored according to TRGS 900:
General dust limit value 10 mg/m3 AGW
Personal protective equipment:
Respiratory protection:
Fine dust mask according to EN 149 FFP2.
Eye protection:
Safety glasses according to EN 166.
Hand protection:
Suitable protective gloves (coat thickness from 0.4 mm, breakdown time 8 hours {Level 6}) made from, e.g., the following materials: natural latex or nitrile (i.e. combi-latex Nr. 395, camatril Nr. 730, manufacturer KCL).
Other protective and hygiene measures :
Do not inhale dust. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
Limitation and supervision of environmental exposure. Beyond that no further measures are required.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity:
Fine dust explosion capable.
Chemical stability:
Under normal environmental and storage conditions (pressure, temperature) the product is stable.
Dangerous reactions:
No dangerous reactions known.
Conditions to avoid:
The accumulation of fine dust in the presence of air may possibly lead to the danger of dust explosion.
Incompatible materials:
None known.
Dangerous decomposition products:
In the event of fire undefined harmful gases can be released.
Disposal considerations
Disposal/waste material (Product)
Waste material code/number for:
Unused products (according to EAK):
16 03 06 organic waste; unused products.
Product waste:
Larger quantities are to be returned to the supply company. Small amounts can be disposed of with the household refuse. Under no circumstances dispose of via the sewage system.
Waste material containing product:
Dispose of according to official regulations. The EAK waste material code is, in general, based on origin. The manufacturer cannot, therefore, provide a waste material code for products that are utilized in different industrial sectors (Information regarding this is to be requested from the manufacturer).
Packaging:
Packaging emptied of waste can be disposed of with the household refuse.
