Description of key information

An approach to determine the vapour pressure of Saponin DAB 9 following EU A.4 using the effusion method (weight loss) was made.
Vapour pressure was examined at nine different temperatures (nominal temperatures 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105 and 120 °C). All experiments showed no relevant and/or no reproducible weight loss. The weight loss in the first measurement series at 30 °C was considered to be caused by humidity of the test item. At 120 °C the test item began to show signs of decomposition. Throughout the experiment no linear range of evaluable values could be observed.
A determination was considered not applicable and the vapour pressure of Saponin DAB 9 should be stated as limit value of 8.53*10-03Pa.
