Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation: Ventilate the area. Move immediately the patient from the area and keep at rest in a well ventilated area. If you feel unwell seek medical advice.
Direct contact with skin:
Immediately take off contaminated clothing. Wash immediately with plenty of running water and possibly with soap, the areas of the body that have, or are suspected to have, come in contact with the product.
Direct contact with eyes:
Wash immediately and thoroughly with running water, keeping eyelids open for at least 10 minutes, then protect eyes with a dry sterile gauze. Seek medical advice immediately.
If eye irritation persists get medical advice/attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Advised extinguishing agents:
Water spray, CO2, foam, dry chemical, depending on the materials involved in the fire.
Extinguishing means to avoid:
Water jets. Use water jets only to cool the surfaces of the containers exposed to fire.
Advice for firefighters:
Use protection - breathing apparatus, safety helmet and full protective suit.
Spray water can be used to protect the people involved in the operation.
Accidental release measures
Containment: Contain spill with earth or sand. If possible absorb the substance with inert material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust) for recovery and removal/disposal. Dispose of recovered material in compliance with local/national regulations.
Prevent the spill from entering a watercourse or sewer system. If the product does enter a watercourse or sewers or has contaminated soil or vegetation, notify the authorities.
Clean up: After wiping up, wash the area and materials involved with water.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
Avoid skin/eye contact and inhalation of vapors.
Do not eat or drink or smoke.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Keep in original container closed tightly.
Do not store in open or unlabeled containers.
Keep containers upright and safe by avoiding the possibility of falls or collisions.
Store in a cool place, away from sources of heat and direct exposure of sunlight.

Exposure controls / personal protection
1. Technical protection measures
Workplace: Provision of good ventilation in the working area.
Washing facility at the workplace required.
When handling excessive amounts of the substance an emergency shower is required.
Eye bath required. These locations must be signposted clearly.
2. Organisational protection measures
3. Hand protection
When handling the use of chemical-resistant protective gloves (EN 374-1/EN374-2/EN374-3) is recommended.
4. Feet protection
Safety foorwaer should be worn when handling packages/containers of the substance.
5. Body protection
Depending on the risk, wear a tight, long apron and boots or suitable chemical protection clothing (according to EN 14605 in case of splashes).
6. Eye protection
When handling the pure product use safety glasses (spectacles cage) (EN 166).
7. Respiratory protection
Not needed for normal use.
Stability and reactivity
It can generate flammable gases in contact with dithiocarbamates, primary metals, nitrides, strong reducing agents.
It can generate toxic gases to contact with dithiocarbamates, organic fluoride, inorganic sulfide, strong oxidising agents.
It can ignite in contact with elementary metals.
Disposal considerations
Dispose of empty containers in accordance with local/national regulations in force. Do not reuse empty containers.
Any remaining product should be disposed of according to applicable local/national regulations by addressing to authorized companies.
Recover if possible. Send to authorized discharge plants or for incineration under controlled conditions.
