Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
In conclusion, the surface tension of a saturated solution of C4-DIACETAL in water was determined to be 72.7 mN/m. Based on the criteria as
mentioned in the proposed updated version of the EEC guideline, it was concluded that C4-DIACETAL should not be regarded as a surface active
material.
Executive summary:

The determination of the surface tension of an aqueous solution of C4 -DIACETAL was based on EEC-Directive A.5 "Surface tension' (1984), OECD Guideline no. 115 "Surface tension of aqueous solutions" (1981) and the proposed updated version of the EEC guideline (November 1989). The surface tension of a saturated solution of C4 -DIACETAL was determined to be 72.7 mN/m. Based on the criteria as mentioned i n the proposed updated version of the EEC guideline, it was concluded that C4-DIACETAL should not be regarded as a surface active material. The temperature of measurement was 19.7 - 20°C.
