Description of key information

The experimental study shows that cetrimonium bromide strongly sorb to the soil particles in a dose-dependent L-type isotherm manner in clay soil, but in a more S-type manner in the soil with low clay content. The L-type isotherm indicates high affinity between the adsorbent and the adsorbate. The Kd values varied from 417.7 to 645.5 L/kg. As representative for average soil with organic carbon content of 2%, the Kd value was 646.5 L/kg corresponding to a Kd value of 1047 L/kg for standard soils of 3.4 % organic matter .
