One study investigated the biodegradation of the test substance in a screening test according to the OECD Guideline 301 D “Closed Bottle Test”. The test substance was biodegraded to 25% after 28 days. Therefore, it is not readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria.

However, investigations on the inherent biodegradability according to the OECD Guideline 302 C “Inherent Biodegradability: Modified MITI Test" showed that the test item will be almost biodegraded in a biological wastewater treatment system and is considered to be inherently biodegradable (78% after 28 days). From the results of the screening test for ready biodegradability and the result from the inherent biodegradability study it can be concluded that the substance will not be persistent in the environment.
