Justification for classification or non-classification

For the target substance only one value for acute oral toxicity has been reported. In analogy to other isomeric nitroxylenes it can be predicted that the 2 -nitro-p-xylene has a low toxicity. From the datas available it can not be excluded, that the substance could cause cyanosis, like many other nitroaromatic compounds do. Therefore a precautionary classification as harmful in all three application routes seems to be justified.
