Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air.  Provide symptomatic/supportive

treatment as necessary.  Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 15

minutes, lifting eyelids occasionally to irrigate.  Provide

symptomatic/supportive treatment as necessary.  Seek medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area immediately with soap and water.  Seek

medical attention if symptoms persist.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting.  Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry chemical, carbon dioxide, foam or water spray.

Product arising from burning: Carbon dioxide, Nitrogen oxides and soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire fighters should wear full protective clothing and

breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Avoid creation of dust. Prevent spillage from entering water

supplies. Sweep up spilled material.  Place material in

waste disposal containers.  Ventilate area and wash spill

site.  Dispose of waste by incineration, according to local

regulations.  Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes.

Gloves and goggles should be worn.  If ventilation is

inadequate or significant exposure is likely a respirator

should be worn.

Handling and storage

Handling: The usual precautions for handling chemicals should be

observed. The use of local exhaust ventilation is

recommended. If ventilation is inadequate or significant

exposure is likely, use a dust mask conforming to BS6016 (or

equivalent).  Wash thoroughly after handling.

Storage: Store in a cool, dark, dry place with adequate ventilation.

Containers should be kept tightly closed and correctly

labelled.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The test substance should be packaged in a leak tight

polyethylene bag, inside a fibre drum with ring closure.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: During normal use the substance cannot be recovered and is

disposed of as waste.  Spilled material may become

contaminated and must be destroyed as recovery is not

economically viable.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is the preferred method of disposal for the

test substance.  Incinerators should be equipped with

filters in order to remove nitrogen oxides.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, the test substance as notified will not

enter the public domain.
