Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: 84/449/EWG, A.1 (Gefrierpunkt-Methode). EC guideline L 251/Al (melting-point/ melting-range) with the aid of DIN 51421
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Observation of the freezing process had to be done visually

yes
Type of method:
method to determine freezing temperature
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
< -60 °C
Remarks on result:
other: crystallizes

The test substance crystallizes below 213K

Conclusions:
The test substance crystallizes below -60°C

Description of key information

Crystallizes below -60°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-60 °C

Additional information

The determination was done according to EC Guideline L 251/Al (melting-point / melting-range) with the aid of DIN 51421.

It was impossible to follow exactly the proposed procedures because of the solidification of the test substance during the cool down period, which prevented the necessary stirring. Observation of the freezing process had to be done visually, because no temperature increase or temperature plateau could be measured.
