Administrative data
First-aid measures
general precautions:
The substance is corrosive to the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract.
Corrosive if swallowed.
Medical observation is indicated in each case of contact.
in case of inhalation:
Remove to fresh air, rest.
Refer for medical attention immediately.
in case of ingestion:
Rinse mouth.
Do NOT give drinking
Do NOT induce vomiting.
Refer for medical attention immediately.
in case of skin contact:
Remove contaminated clothes.
Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower at least for 15 min.
Refer for medical attention immediately.
in case of eyes contact:
First rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible),
Refer for medical attention immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Not combustible.
In case of fire in the surroundings: all extinguishing agents allowed
Accidental release measures
Sweep spilled substance into containers.
Wash away remainder with plenty of water
Extra personal protection: P2 filter respirator for harmful particles).
Handling and storage
aluminium sodium dioxide solutions are strongly basic and react with acids.
corrosive for aluminium and zinc

Exposure controls / personal protection
Personal protection measures:
Inhalation:
wear respiratory protection.
skin:
Protective chemical resistant gloves.
Protective clothing
Eyes:
Safety goggles, face shield or eyes protection
Ingestion:
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Technical measures:
Make emergency eyewash stations, safety/quick-drench showers, and washing facilities available in work area.
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV (as Al (soluble salts)): 2 mg/m3 (as TWA) (ACGIH 1999).
Stability and reactivity
The solution in water is a strong base, it reacts violently with acid and is corrosive to aluminium, tin and zinc.
Reacts with ammonium salts causing fire hazard.
Disposal considerations
Dispose in accordance with local/regional regulations
