Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Eye contact:

Immediately flush with plenty of water.

If easy to do, remove contact lenses.

If there are persistent symptoms, obtain medical advice.

Skin contact:

Immediately wash affected skin with plenty of water.

Use soap if available.

Take off contaminated clothing, wristwatch, jewellery.

Wash clothes and clean shoes before re-use.

Ingestion:

Rinse mouth thoroughly with water.

Immediately offer water to drink.

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Immediately get medical advice from a poison control center or doctor.

Inhalation:

Remove to fresh air.

Fire-fighting measures

Flash point: 135°C.

Extinguishing media: Recommended: Water, foam, carbon dioxide (CO2), dry chemical.

Unusual fire and explosion hazards: If this material is milled or the process generates fines, the fines could form an explosive mixture if dispersed in a sufficient quantity of air. Minimise use of water to prevent environmental contamination.

Hazardous products of combustion: Carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), hydrogen chloride (HCl).

Fire fighting equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus. Equipment should be thoroughly decontaminated after use.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Keep all non-essential people away from affected area.

Notify authorities.

Environmental precautions:

Minimise spread. Keep out of drains, sewers, ditches and water ways.

Notify authorities.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Use vacuum equipment designed specifically for combustible dust.

Dig up heavily contaminated soil.

Collect in containers for disposal.

Wash spill area with detergent and water.

Minimise use of water to prevent environmental contamination.

Handling and storage

Good industrial practice in housekeeping and personal hygiene should be followed.

Handling:

When using do not eat, drink or smoke.

Dust generated during handling and/or storage can form explosive mixtures in air.

Minimise dust.

Avoid breathing dust.

Wash hands thoroughly after handling or contact.

Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.

Thoroughly clean equipment after use.

Emptied packages retain product residue and dust.

Do not contaminate drains, sewers and water ways when disposing of equipment rinse water.

Storage:

Keep locked up and out of the reach of children.

Keep away from food, drink and animal feed.

Keep only in the original container.

Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination.

Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.

Minimum shelf life: 2 years.

Follow all local/regional/national/international regulations.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Airborne exposure limits: Furilazole NCEL (New Chemical Exposure Limit): 0.1 mg/m3 (TWA)

Engineering controls: Provide adequate ventilation to keep airborne concentration below exposure limits.

Eye protection: If there is significant potential for contact: Wear chemical goggles.

Skin protection: Wear chemical resistant gloves. If there is significant potential for contact: Wear chemical resistant clothing/footwear.

Respiratory protection: If airborne exposure is excessive: Use positive pressure atmosphere supplying (supplied air) respiratory protection equipment.

Stability and reactivity

Stability: Stable under normal conditions of handling and storage.

Oxidizing properties: none.

Materials to avoid/Reactivity: If this material is milled or the process generates fines, the fines could form an explosive mixture if dispersed in a sufficient quantity of air.

Hazardous decomposition: Thermal decomposition: Hazardous products of combustion: see section 5.

Self-accelerating decomposition temperature (SADT): No data.

Disposal considerations

Product:

Do NOT discharge into environment.

Keep out of drains, sewers, ditches and water ways.

Burn in special, controlled high temperature incinerator.

Dispose of as hazardous industrial waste.

Follow all local/regional/national/international regulations.

Consult supplier for specialist advice.

Container:

Empty packaging completely.

Dispose of as hazardous industrial waste.

Ensure packaging cannot be reused.

Observe all labelled safeguards until container is cleaned, reconditioned or destroyed.

Follow all local/regional/national/international regulations.

Consult supplier for specialist advice.
