Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
Stability
Following OECD TG 111, the substance was found to be hydrolytically unstable forming the hydrolysis products 2-ethyl-2-(hydroxymethyl)propane-1,3-diol, propoxylated, reaction product with methyl 3-oxobutanoate and 3-aminopropyldimethylamine.
At pH 4 and 7, the substance hydrolyses within a few minutes. The half-life at pH 9 is determined to be 1.9 hours at 20°C.
Biodegradation
In a test on ready biodegradability, the substance showed a biodegradation of 52 % within 28 days. Therefore the substance is considered to be "Not Readily Biodegradable".
Inherent biodegradability of the substance showed 71 % degradation after 28 days. The substance is considered to be “Inherently Biodegradable” but all specific REACH screening criteria concerning PBT Assessment are not fulfilled.
Bioaccumulation
The substance is not stable in the aquatic environment due to hydrolysis and also the hydrolysis products are considered for bioaccumulation. With regard to the log Kow of the parent substance and its hydrolysis products, all logKow values are below 3, indicating a low potential for bioaccumulation.
Adsorption/desorption:
An adsorption coefficient (log Koc) in the range of 1.5 to 6.1 was determined at pH 6 for the substance following the HPLC method according to OECD TG 121. The chromatogram of the test item showed a mixture of 7 partially resolved peaks corresponding to 7 fractions and the Area % weighted log Koc for all peaks of the test substance was determined to be 5.2.
