Test conditions

Nominal and measured concentrations:
The stock solutions were prepared fresh each day. The test solutions were renewed daily. Detailed information about the chemical composition of the media is given elsewhere (Van Leeuwen and Maas, 1985). The tests with Na2S, CS2 and the amines were conducted in sealed vessels. LC50 values and their 95% confidence intervals were calculated according to the Litchfield and Wilcoxon (1949) method.
