First-aid measures
Thermal decomposition or combustion by-products may contain
hydrogen fluoride. In case of contact monitor
electrocardiogram for signs of calcium depletion.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Hold eyelids apart and flush eyes with clean water for 15
minutes. If irritation develops, seek medical attention.
Thermal decomposition/combustion by-products may contain
hydrogen fluoride, in case of contact immediately flush eyes
with 1% calcium gluconate in neutral saline solution and
seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: If molten material contacts the skin, treat as a burn.
Immediately flush with cool water for 15 minutes. Do not
attempt to remove material stuck to the skin, seek immediate
medical attention.
Thermal decomposition/combustion by-products may contain
hydrogen fluoride, in case of skin contact immediately flush
skin with water and apply 2.5% calcium gluconate gel or
immerse in iced solution of benzalkonium chloride. For deep
tissue burns, 5-10% aqueous solution of calcium gluconate
may be injected subcutaneously. Seek immediate medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
may be used. Do not use a high pressure jet of water.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
fluorinated hydrocarbons and hydrogen fluoride.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing
should be worn.
Accidental release measures
spillage and avoid dust formation. Sweep up spill or use an
industrial vacuum fitted with suitable dust filtration
system. Transfer to suitably labelled containers for
recovery or disposal in accordance with local regulations.
Handling and storage
Avoid inhaling dust/vapours/fumes which may be evolved
during use. Wear dust respirator, i.e. standard EN149, type
FFP1S. Avoid contact with molten material. Wear safety
glasses (BS2092-2), goggles and/or face shield depending on
the application and impervious gloves i.e. nitrile. Wash
hands before eating/drinking or smoking.
Storage: Store in sealed 25kg fibreboard kegs with polyethylene
liner. Store in a cool, dry place.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 25kg Fibreboard kegs.

domain incorporated into articles. Recovery from articles
is not feasible.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Plastic articles containing the substance can be disposed of
as domestic waste.
