Administrative data
First-aid measures
physician if symptoms persist.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 mins.
Consult a physician if symptoms persist.
Emergency measure - Skin: Flush the affected area well with water then wash vigorously
with soap and water or a soft detergent.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Product arising from burning: No hazardous combustion products are known.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear self contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
a brush and shovel. Place into a polyethylene bag, tie with
a wire tie and place the bag inside a fibre drum. Dispose
of waste through the waste treatment plant at Cramlington.
Wear eye protection, a vapour mask and gloves when
performing the cleanup operation. Wash the area well with
soap and water.
Handling and storage
similar manner in the factory. The precautions taken are
designed to protect against the most hazardous materials
handled not only against any risk associated with handling
HC Yellow No. 4.
During sampling the operator will wear safety glasses, a
particle mask and disposable gloves, hat and overalls. A
laminar flow cabinet is to be utilised.
During dye weighing the operators will wear a pure-flo
helmet, a tyvek gown and oversleeves, latex disposable
gloves with latex overgloves on top of overalls. The area
has local exhaust ventilation.
During manufacture the operators will wear safety glasses, a
particle dust mask, a hat and gloves as well as overalls.
Local exhaust ventilation systems are utilised in this area.
Storage: 50 kg fibre board kegs, double lined with polyethylene bags
received at the Cramlington factory. These will be storedin
a cool dry warehouse. The location will be recorded on a
computerised stock location system. This system ensures a
first in first out stock rotation.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene double-lined 50 kg fibre board kegs.
