Description of key information

Verdol is a solid in the form of white crystals however is handled as a liquid.

For the solid form, the study was waived in accordance with Column 2 adaptation statement of REACH Annex VII, this study does not need to be conducted on solids with melting points lower than 160°C. The melting point of the chemical is 50.5°C.

For the liquid form, a study was conducted to determine the auto-ignition temperature of Verdol according to the EU Method A.15. The lowest auto-ignition temperature of the test item was determined to be 296°C in the main test. Due to safety reasons and according to the guidelines the lowest measured temperature at which an ignition was observed was rounded to the next lower number divisible by 5. The auto-ignition temperature according to the test conditions is determined to be 295°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
295 °C
