Additional information

The biodegradability of isophorone (CAS 78 -59 -1) was studied in a "DOC-Die-Away Test" in accordance with EU method C4 -A. The results indicate that the test item is readily biodegradable under the present test conditions. Domestic activated sludge was used as inocolum in this study. 95% of the test item degraded within a period of 28 days (Huels AG, 1992). The 10-day window was passed after a lag phase of about of 8 days. Therefore, it can be concluded that the substance is readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria).
