After zero point adjustment, the surface tension of the ethanol was determined at 20°C (+/- 0.5°C) and 40°C (+/- 0.5°C); from the data obtained, the calibration factor were calculated to be 0.9697 at 20°C and 0.9585 at 40°C.

After zero point adjustment, the surface tension of the water was determined at 20°C (+/- 0.5°C) and 40°C (+/- 0.5°C);  the calibration factor was calculated to be f = 0.9993.

The test article was tested without dilution at 20°C (+/- 0.5°C) and at 40°C (+/- 0.5°C) and as an aqueous solution at 20°C (+/- 0.5°C) at 90% of the saturation point.

Six measurements were performed for each sample at 20°C and 40°C.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
From the experimental data obtained, it can be concluded that the surface tension of the test item is 48.1 mN/m at 20°C and 33.4 mN/m at 40°C and 31.6 mN/m at 20°C for the 90% aqueous satured solution.
According to the data obtained for the 90% saturated aqueous solution, the sample should be regarded as a surface-active material.
