Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water, e.g. the substance is manufactured with water or washed with water
Endpoint:
flammable liquids: obsolete as covered by section 'Flash point'
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:

Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
According to the guidance on application of CLP (V5, July 2017-chapter 2.6-Flammable liquids) : "Flammable liquid means a liquid having a flash point of not more than 60 °C.".
As the Flash point of the test item is up to 60°C (136 °C at 101 kPa), the test does not need to be conducted and the substance can be considered as Not Flammable.
Endpoint:
pyrophoric liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
According to the additional classification considerations in the guidance on application of CLP (V5, July 2017-chapter 2.9.4.2), the classification procedure for pyrophoric liquids need not to be applied when experience in manufacture or handling shows that the substance or mixture does not ignite spontaneously on coming into contact with air at normal temperatures (i.e. the substance or mixture is known to be stable at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days)).
In case of the test item, a derogation statement is applicable.
