Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
In the presence of water, maleic anhydride rapidly hydrolyzes to form maleic acid. The half-life of the
hydrolysis of maleic anhydride to maleic acid in water at 25oC has been determined to be approximately 22 seconds.
