Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The toxicity of the registered substance to the unicellular freshwater green alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was determined according to the principles of OECD 201. The test item is a waxy white to yellowish solid, which is practically insoluble in water. Five water accommodated fractions (WAF) were prepared in a geometrical series with a factor of 2: 0.625 – 1.25 – 2.50 – 5.00 – 10.0 mg/L .  For each loading level an appropriate amount of the test item was weighed out.  All loading rates and the control were analytically verified via analysis of total organic carbon (TOC, according to DIN EN 1484) at the start and at the end of the exposure. The EC10 is 9.29 mg/L whereas the EC50 is >10 mg/L (growth rate inhibition).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
10 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
9.29 mg/L
