Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

- Key result
- Sample tested:
- other: The structure of the test item was assessed for chemical groups that woudl imply oxidizing properties
- Parameter:
- other: The structure of the test item was assessed for chemical groups that woudl imply oxidizing properties
- Remarks on result:
- other: The oxidizing properties (liquid) are predicted negative based on the chemical structure of components of the test item which does contain groups that act as an oxidizing agent.
- Interpretation of results:
- other: no oxidizing properties
- Conclusions:
- In an expert statement it was concluded that the substance has no oxidizing properties.
- Executive summary:
In an expert statement it was concluded that the substance FRET 13-0545 has no oxidizing properties, as none of the components of the test item does contain groups that act as an oxidizing agent. The oxygen atoms that are present in the molecular structure of the test item are chemically bonded to carbon or hydrogen.
Reference
In an expert statement (see study report 517654) it was concluded that the substance has no oxidizing properties.
From study report 517654:
"A test item is considered an oxidizing substance when a mixture of the substance and cellulose in a 1:1 ratio (by mass) spontaneously ignites or the mean pressure rise time of the mixture is less than or equal to mean pressure rise time of a 1:1 reference mixture (by mass) of 65% aqueous nitric acid and cellulose.
The composition of the test item is shown in Paragraph 4.1 and Appendix 2. None of the components of the test item does contain groups that act as an oxidizing agent. The oxygen atoms that are present in the molecular structure of the test item are chemically bonded to carbon or hydrogen.
In conclusion, FRET 13-0545 has no oxidizing properties."
Description of key information
No oxidising properties (there are no chemical groups in the molecule of the substance associated with oxidising properties).
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Oxidising properties:
- no
Additional information
Justification for classification or non-classification
Based on structural features, the substance does not need to be classified for the hazard 'Oxidising liquid' according to CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
