Additional information
Environmental fate and pathways
The test substance undergoes no significant hydrolysis (half life of > 1 year) and is not readily biodegradable based on available data (screening tests).
Aquatic toxicology
Acute and chronic data of reliability 2 (Klimisch rating), based on international guidelines, are available for three trophic levels: Algae, Invertebrates and Fish. Among all data available, the fish Oncorhynchus mykiss seems to be the most sensitive species in acute and chronic exposure with a 96h-LC50 at 1.61 mg dry extract/L and a 28h-NOEC at 0.495 mg dry extract/L. In addition, a valid activated sludge respiration inhibition test is available, showing a 3h-EC50 at 95.2 mg dry extract/L and a 3h-EC10 value at 20.2 mg dry extract/L.
Terrestrial toxicity
The substance exhibits a NOEC (reproduction) of 500 mg/kg dry weight for soil macroorganisms under test conditions which is converted to 213 mg/kg soil dwt (in accordance with ECHA Guidance R.10).
Sediment toxicity
The substance exhibits a NOEC (emergence rate) of 1000 mg/kg dry weight for sediment organisms under test conditions.
Conclusion on classification
1 mg/L < E(L)C50< 10 mg/L; 0.1 < 28d-NOEC fish < 1 mg/L; non-rapidly degradable substance; Log Kow > 3.0.
No existing Harmonised Classification listed in Annex VI to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP), including ATP2 (Reg. (EC) N°286/2011).
Classification according to the Annex VI of the Directive 67/548/EEC:The test substance is classified as N; R51/53 for the environment.
Classification according to the Annex VI of the Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP): According to the 2nd ATP, the test substance is classified as Aquatic Chronic 2 for the environment.
