Description of key information

Hyrolysis of tin, dioctylbis(2,4-pentanedionato-κO2,κO4)- in water. In due to solubility and toxicity values consideration of the toxicity of 2,4-Pentadione.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water fish

Fresh water fish
Effect concentration:
86 mg/L

Additional information

TIB KAT 223 hydrolyses in water directly in di-n-octyltin oxide and 2,4-pentadione. So there is to evaluate the aquatic toxicity of the hydrolysis compounds.

Di-n-octyltin oxide may not soluble enough to cause adverse short time effects in fish. So this endpoint refers to the short time toxicity in fish for 2,4 -Pentadione.
