Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Short-term toxicity tests for daphnia and algae are available for the substance. The EL50 and ErL50 are 14.5 and 30.4 mg/L, respectively. Based on the lowest EL50 for daphnia, the substance does not need to be classified for acute aquatic toxicity according to Table 4.1.0 (a) of CLP.

As only one reliable long-term toxicity endpoint is available, for algae an ErL10 of 15.7 mg/L was derived, chronic classification needs to be derived on both acute and chronic data, and the worst case should be taken. Based on the ErL10 value, the substance does not need to be classified for chronic toxicity.

In addition, the substance is readily biodegradable, has a log Kow of 3.5-3.9 and the lowest acute toxicity value is 14.5 mg/L for daphnia which also would not lead to chronic classification.

Based on the available aquatic toxicity studies with algae and daphnids, the substance does not need to be classified for the environment according to EU CLP (EC 1272/2008) and its amendments.
