Description of key information

1-Octanesulfonamide, N-[3-(dimethyloxidoamino)propyl]-3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-tridecafluoro- is a solid at 20°C and 1013 hPa but is marketed or used in a non-solid or granular form.

A melting point of 148.0°C at 101.3 kPa was determined using the capillary viscometer method according to OECD Guideline 102.The test substance decomposes before boiling. A relative density of 1.646 at 20°C, was measured using the pycnometer method in accordance with OECD Guideline 109.The vapour pressure, 1.83E-4 Pa at 20°C, was determined using the effusion method in accordance with OECD Guideline 104. The partition coefficient, Log Kow, 1.35 at 20°C, was determined using the flask method according to OECD Guideline 107. Water solubility of 270.0 g/L at 20°C, was determined with the flask method according to OECD Guideline 105.The substance has a surface tension of 15.7 mN/m at 20°C and 1000 mg/L, measured following OECD 115 guideline. The determination of a flash point is technically not feasible for this solid substance. The test substance was not flammable in a flammability test following EU Method A.10. The substance has no groups associated with explosive properties and is not oxidising based on chemical structure.
