Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The solubilities at 20°C were found as follows:

161 mg/L with a loading rate of 1.0 g/L at pH 5.7

222 mg/L with a loading rate of 5.0 g/L at pH 5.2

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The determination was carried out by flask method according to OECD Guideline 105 and quantified by UV/Vis spectroscopy

The test item is a complex mixture. In addition to the determination via UV/VIS spectroscopy, the water solubility was therefore also investigated via determination of dissolved amounts of chromium, nitrogen and carbon, the main elements contained in the test item.

Different sample weights (different amounts of surplus) were applied (each about 1.0 g/L and 5.0 g/L) to investigate whether fractions of different solubility are existent (partial solubility).

As result for the water solubility the values of the determination via UV/VIS spectroscopy can be preferably considered, because with this method the yellow coloured compounds were measured. This method is the most sensitive method for measuring the concentration of the test item of the methods applied. The determinations via the elements largely confirm the results of the UV/Vis measurements.
