PBT assessment: overall result

Reference
Name:
allyl phenoxyacetate
Type of composition:
boundary composition of the substance
State / form:
liquid
Reference substance:
allyl phenoxyacetate
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The PBT Assessment for the substance is based on the criteria set out in the “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.11: PBT Assessment”.

Persistence

The substance is readily biodegradable based on screening criteria. This was shown in a study according to OECD 301 D (68% biodegradation after 28 d). Thus, the substance does not meet the screening criterion for persistency and it is not considered to be persistent (P) or very persistent (vP) in the environment.

Bioaccumulation

Generation of information on bioaccumulation is not necessary according to Annex VIII of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. Furthermore information on bioaccumulation is not needed according to the Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.11: PBT/vPvB assessment v3.0 (June, 2017), since the substance is readily biodegradable and does not fulfill the persistence criterion.

Toxicity

A long-term toxicity result for Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata is available with an ErC10 (72 h) of 12.7 mg/L (nominal). Moreover, the substance was not classified according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) and all further amendments (ATPs). Thus, the criteria set out in Annex XIII of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 are not met and the test substance is not considered to meet the T criterion.

In conclusion, the test substance is not considered to be PBT or vPvB.
