Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2016-01-06 till 2016-03-14
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: GLP guideline study without restrictions.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Version / remarks:
(adopted, May 2008)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Version / remarks:
(adopted July 1995)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The water solubility is determined using the flask method according to OECD Guideline 105, EC Guideline A.6. In a preliminary test a water solubility of 2,2-Dimethyl-thiazolidine in each ratio was observed. Therefore solubility tests in ratios 1+10, 1+1 and 10+1 of 2,2-Dimethylthiazolidine in demineralized water are prepared.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
flask method
Temp.:
20 °C
Remarks on result:
other: Soluble in demineralized water in each ratio (1+10, 1+1, 10+1)

Initial weights and volumes of 2,2-Dimethylthiazolidine

 Test at 20 °C  Flask 1  Flask 2  Flask 3
   Ratio 1 + 10  Ratio 1 + 1  Ratio 10 + 1
Initial weight of the test item [g] 1.06   4.99  9.99
 Volume of demineralized water in [g] 10.07   5.02  0.99
Appearance  Clear solution Clear solution   Clear solution

Result:

The results of the tests shows, that 2,2-Dimethylthiazolidine was soluble in demineralized water in each ratio. Therefore no more tests for the water solubility of the test item were necessary.

Conclusions:
The results of the tests shows, that 2,2-Dimethylthiazolidine was soluble in demineralized water (20 °C) in each ratio (1+10, 1+1, 10+1).
Executive summary:

The determination of the water solubility of 2,2 -Dimethylthiazolidine was measured according OECD guideline 105 “Water solubility“ (adopted 27th July 1995) and EC guideline A.6 “Water solubility” (adopted, May 2008).

The results of the tests shows, that 2,2-Dimethylthiazolidine was soluble in demineralized water (20 °C) in each ratio (1+10, 1+1, 10+1).

Description of key information
