Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Eye contact : Immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of water. Remove contact lenses. Consult an oculist if necessary.
Skin contact : Rinse with plenty of water. Take off all contaminated clothing immediately. Wash off with soap and water. Consult a physician if necessary.
Ingestion : Rinse mouth with plenty of water. Drink 1 or 2 glasses of water. Do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately.
Inhalation : Take person to fresh air. Keep at rest. If symptoms persist, call a physician. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration. If unconscious place in recovery position and seek medical advice.
Indication of immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:
General advice : Call a physician immediately. Symptoms of poisoning may only appear several hours later.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray., Dry extinguishing powder., Alcohol-resistant foam., Carbon dioxide (CO2).
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Specific hazards during fire fighting: In case of fire, thermal decomposition with emission of hazardous fumes is possible HBr Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2).
Further information: Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.Avoid raising of dust.
Advice for fire-fighters:
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Regular fire intervention clothes.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions : Cleanup personnel must use appropriate personal protective equipment. Avoid formation of dust.
Additional advice : Avoid dust formation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Environmental precautions:
The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Methods for cleaning up : Collect spilled material with vacuum cleaner or sweep up. According to local regulations, the disposal should be made through a licensed chemical waste disposal service. Collect spilled product in another vessel and carry off as chemical waste. Flush small quantities of spilt product away with large quantities of water.
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling: Avoid dust formation.Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.Handle and open the container with care.Always replace cap after use.
Hygiene measures : Avoid inhaling dust.Avoid contact with skin and eyes.Handle and open the container with care.Employees should wash their hands and face before eating, drinking, or using tobacco products.Keep away from foodstuffs, drinks and tobacco.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion : Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.Avoid dust formation.
Conditions for safe storage:
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep container tightly closed.Keep in a dry, cool place.Keep in a well-ventilated place.
Further information on storage conditions : Keep container in a well-ventilated place.Store in a cool area.Store in a dry area.Protect againsthumid air and water
Advice on common storage : Store away from acids.Store away from oxidizing agents.
Specific end use:
This substance is used only by trained professionals under restricted conditions.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Components with occupational exposure limits rsp. biological occupational exposure limits requiring monitoring:
a) Occupational exposure limits:
Air limit values: We are not aware of any national exposure limit.
Biological limit values : We are not aware of any national exposure limit.
b) Additional exposure limits under the conditions of use:
Particles not otherwise classified (inhalation fraction: dust/mist): 3 mg/m^3 Particles not otherwise classified (inhalation fraction): 10 mg/m3No other exposure limits applicable.
c) DNEL/DMEL and PNEC-values:
DNEL : No DNEL/DMEL value determined.
PNEC : No PNEC value determined.
2. Exposure controls:
Occupational exposure controls:
a) Instruction measures to prevent exposure:
Employees should wash their hands and face before eating, drinking, or using tobacco products.
Keep away from foodstuffs, drinks and tobacco.
b) Technical measures to prevent exposure:
Ensure adequate ventilation.
c) Personal measures to prevent exposure:
Respiratory protection: Dust mask class P2. In case of heavy air pollution a mask with A/(P2)-filter is to be worn.
Hand protection: Use chemical resistant gloves. The use of protective gloves should conform to the specifications of EC directive 89/686/EC and the resultant standard EN374.
Additional advice: The data are based on own tests, literature data and information of glove manufacturers or derived from similar substances. Because several factors may influence these properties (eg temperature), one should take into account the fact that the life of a chemical gloves in practice may be considerably shorter than indicated by the permeation test. The high diversity of types of use are prescribed by the manufacturer.
Eye protection: Safety goggles. EN 166. Safety glasses.
Body Protection: Safety clothes : long sleeved clothing EN13688
Personal protective equipment: Eye-wash bottle with clean water. Emergency showers and eye wash stations should be available.
d) Environmental exposure controls:
Effluent regulations/discharge/treatment/contents may vary from one area to another. Please consult the local regulations regarding the disposal of this material. Do not release into drain. Collect for removal by a licensed waste contractor.
Stability and reactivity
Stability : The product is stable under normal conditions of storage and use.
Hazardous reactions: Reactivity is not to be expected under normal conditions of temperature and pressure.
Conditions to avoid: Exposure to moisture. Avoid contact with strong oxidizing agents. Avoid contact with strong acids.
Materials to avoid: Store away from strong oxidizing agents.Store away from strong acids.
Hazardous decomposition products: HBr
Disposal considerations
a) Waste disposal methods
According to local regulations, the disposal should be made through a licensed chemical waste disposal service. Effluent regulations/discharge/treatment/contents may vary from one area to another. Please consult the local regulations regarding the disposal of this material. Do not release into drain. Collect for removal by a licensed waste contractor.
b) Empty containers.
As the packaging can be contaminated with product residus, please observe the warnings of the label even when the container is empty.
