Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
In the screening test according to Grewer with the pure product an endothermal effect was detected between 90 and 200 °C. Self-heating was detected starting at 230 °C. Only a weak exothermal effect was observed.
In the screening test with the kieselguhr mixture (1:1) a self-heating was detected starting at 230 °C. A multistage reaction was observed which led to a maximum product temperature of approximately 600 °C. After the test the mesh wire basket of the pure product showed a black residue,
UN Transport Regulations: Due to the results from the Grewer-Oven-Test the substance has not to be classified as “self-heating substance” (class 4.2).
EU-GHS/CLP: Due to the results from the Grewer-Oven-Test the substance has not to be classified as “self-heating substance”.
Executive summary:

The substance was tested for autoflammability according to VDI 2263 sheet 1 (screening in the Grewer oven).

In the screening test according to Grewer with the pure product an endothermal effect was detected between 90 and 200 °C. Self-heating was detected starting at 230 °C. Only a weak exothermal effect

was observed.
