Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
- Following inhalation:
Move the affected person away from the contaminated area and into the fresh air. In case of irritation, consult a doctor
- Following skin contact:
Wipe off as much as possible.Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Wash with soapy water. In case of redness or irritation, consult a doctor
- Following eye contact:
Rinse immediately and thoroughly, pulling the eyelids well away from the eye (15 minutes minimum). Always consult an eye specialist, even if there are no immediate symptoms
- Following ingestion:
Do not induce vomiting. Call medical assistance immediately and show a copy of the material safety data sheet
- Most important symptoms and effects:
Irritation of the respiratory tract.
May cause an allergic skin reaction.
Risk of serious damage to eyes.
Fire-fighting measures
1. Extinguishing media :
All extinguishing media can be used execept CO2.
2. Special hazards arising from the substance :
Not classified as flammable according to EC criteria, but may present a risk in the event of a fire.
During combustion : Toxic and irritating fumes may be released : carbon oxides (CO, CO2). Nitrogen oxides (NOx). Various hydrocarbon fragments. Coper oxides
3. Advice for fire-fighters :
Avoid raising powdered material due to explosion hazard. Contain the extinguishing fluids by bunding. Do not attempt to fight the fire without suitable protective equipment : Suitable breathing apparatus. Complete protective clothing.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions:
For non-emergency personnel : Avoid contact with skin and eyes procedures. Do not breathe dust.
For emergency responders : Do not attempt to fight the fire without suitable protective equipment
- Protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Impermeable protective gloves. The protective gloves to be used must comply with the specifications of EC directive 89/686/EEC and the resultant standard EN 374
Sealed safety goggles
Suitable respiratory mask. (P1)
- Environmental precautions:
Contain the spilled material by bunding (product is hazardous for the environment). Do not discharge into the environment
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Recovery : Sweep up or vacuum up the product. Avoid the dispersion of dust
Cleaning/decontamination : Wash non-recoverable remainder with large amounts of water
Disposal : Dispose of at a licensed waste collection point
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling :
Technical measures : Ensure good ventilation of the work station and extraction to remove dust at its source.
Precautions :
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Do not breathe dust
Avoid raising powdered material due to explosion hazard
Hygiene measures :
Always wash your hands after handling the product.
Do not drink, eat or smoke in the workplace
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities :
Store in a cool, well-ventilated place. Store in a dry place. Avoid ignition sources. Keep container tightly closed
Recommended packaging materials : Original packaging
