Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
This study was conducted between 09 April 2016 and 16 December 2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Version / remarks:
30 May 2008
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Version / remarks:
27 JUly 1995
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
flask method
Key result
Water solubility:
> 92.7 other: %w/w
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Incubation duration:
ca. 28.5 h
Temp.:
30 °C
pH:
> 11.5 - < 13.1
Remarks on result:
completely miscible
Details on results:
The sample concentration, observations and solution pH for each sample are shown in the table below.

Table:

Sample  Concentration (%w/w)  Observation  Solution pH
1  5.25  Single phase, clear, colorless solution.  11.5
2  25.1  Single phase, clear, colorless solution.  12.2
3  47.4  Single phase, clear, colorless solution. 12.6
4  74.2  Single phase, clear, colorless solution. 12.7
5  92.7  Single phase, clear, colorless solution. 13.1

Overall result:              Miscible with water in all proportions at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C.

Conclusions:
The standard EC A.6 / OECD 105 methodology was not applicable to this test item, due to its miscibility with water. Therefore, testing was carried out by visual appraisal
Executive summary:

The general physico-chemical properties of 3-[[3-(Dimethylamino)propyl]amino]propanenitrile (TK2710) have been determined.

Water Solubility.

Miscible with water in all proportions at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C, by visual assessment, using a flask method, designed to be compatible with Method A.6 Water Solubility of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 105 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995.
