First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures :
- General information In all the cases : Immediate medical attention is required.
- Inhalation : Assure fresh air breathing. In case of respiratory arrest, administer artificial
respiration.
- Skin contact : Wash skin thoroughly with mild soap and water.
- Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 min.
- Ingestion : If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious).
Fire-fighting measures
- Extinguishing media : Alcohol-resistant foam. Use water spray. Carbon dioxyde. Dry powder.
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture : Hydrogen fluoride. Hydrogen bromide. Carbon oxides.
- Advice for fire-fighters : If necessary, use an autonomous respiratory protection for the fire control.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures : Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in section 8. Avoid inhaling vapors, fogs of pulverizing or gases. Evacuate personnel to safe places. Avoid inhalation. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid generating dusty conditions.
- Environmental precautions : Prevent entry to sewers and public waters.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up : Collect and evacuate without creating dust. Sweep and deprive of the shovel. Keep in bowls adapted and closed for the elimination.
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling : Avoid any contact with skin and eyes. Avoid formation of dust and aerosols. Provide adequate ventilation where dust is formed. Normal measures for preventive fire protection.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities : Keep contents under argon. Light sensitive. Store in tightly closed packings. Store in dry, cool, well-ventilated area.
- Specific end use : No data available.
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every Downstream user of the intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection
* Control parameters
Personal protection
- Respiratory protection : For nuisance exposures use type P95 (US) or type P1 (EU EN 143) particle respirator. For higher level protection use type OV/AG/P99 (US) or type ABEK-P2 ( EU EN 143) respirator cartridges. Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN ( EU).
- Skin protection : Impervious clothing. The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace.
- Eye protection : Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN166. Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166(EU).
- Hand protection : Manipulate with gloves. Gloves have to be controlled before the use. Use a technique of withdrawal of gloves suited to avoid that the skin contacts the product (i.e. without touching the outside surface of the glove). Throw gloves contaminated after the use according to the current laws and to the good practices of laboratory. Wash and dry hands. The selected gloves have to satisfy the specifications of the EU Directive 89 / 686 /EEC and in the standard IN 374 which derives from it.
Industrial hygiene : Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday. Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.
Occupational Exposure Limits : No data available.

Stability and reactivity
- Reactivity : No data available.
- Chemical stability : Stable under advised conditions.
- Possibility of hazardous reactions : No data available.
- Conditions to avoid : Light (daylight). Heat.
- Incompatible materials : Strong acids. Strong oxidisers.
- Hazardous decomposition products : No data available.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods : Offer surplus and non-recyclable solutions to a licensed disposal company. Contact a licensed disposal professional waste
disposal service to dispose of this material. Dissolve or mix the material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber. Dispose of contaminated packaging as unused product.
