Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Based on the short-term toxicity test on the most sensitive species, named invertebrates, Pigment additive Kr 1789 is considered as not acutely harmful to aquatic species.
Additional information
Comparing all available data for the read-across substances Oleylamine (CAS 112-90-3) and Copper phthalocyanine monosulfonic acid (CAS 28901-96-4), the aquatic invertebrates are the most sensitive species. Therefore an OECD guideline 202 GLP-study was performed with the target item Pigment additive Kr 1789 (CAS 85650-96-0) itself. Based on the short-term toxicity test on Daphnia magna, Pigment additive Kr 1789 is considered as not acutely harmful to aquatic invertebrates. Moreover, similar results are expected on short-term toxicity to fish and algae/ aquatic plants. Therefore the product is considered as not acutely harmful to aquatic species.
Short-term toxicity to fish:
Oleylamine (CAS 112-90-3): Acutely very toxic to fish.
Copper phthalocyanine monosulfonic acid (CAS 28901-96-4): With high probability acutely not harmful to fish.
Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:
Target item; Pigment additive Kr 1789 Stck. Ber. 100% (CAS 85650-96-0): There is a high probability that the product is not acutely harmful to aquatic organisms.
Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria/Toxicity to aquatic plants other than algae:
Copper phthalocyanine monosulfonic acid (CAS 28901-96-4): With high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic plants (Lemna).
Oleylamine (CAS 112-90-3): Acutely very toxic to aquatic algae.
Toxicity to microorganisms:
Target item; Pigment additive Kr 1789 Stck. Ber. 100% (CAS 85650-96 -0): The inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced in appropriate low concentrations.
